This lesson introduces learners to the contents and purpose of a business plan, we discuss the sections of a plan, we then go on to look at an infamous example of what it shouldn’t be like in Solomon’s plan presented to Claude Littner in the Apprentice. A 3 mark question with a model answer, a few short tasks before going onto creating a business plan in groups, a template has been provided. Students present back their plans to the class and the class are provided with a sheet to write WWW and EBI with their peers presentations. In this double lesson, learners are introduced to Romanian orphan studies such as Michael Rutter (1998). We start by looking at the context and what led to such conditions in Romania in the first place before watching some clips and images of Romania’s orphanages in the past. This double lesson introduces learners to critical path analysis, quite a tricky concept to understand at first for a lot of students - but not with this powerpoint. We start with an engaging starter to contextualise the topic, then we break down the elements of the critical path such as node, EST LFT, activities and durations so that we can see how it is built. Guidance is displayed step by step how to work out EST and LFT. We start with looking at the formulas for each one, with broken down examples to illustrate the concepts. We look at a concise case study with some information on employees and productivity, using this students complete a calculation question along with group presentations on a 24 mark essay based question on labour rentention. This lesson introduces learners to the famous Asch experiment and we start by carrying out the experiment in class as a starter (instructions at the start). After carrying out the study, students can watch the study in action while getting the key information down on aims, method, results and conclusions. We then look at Asch’s extended study which was done 4 years later by Asch on variations that can affect conformity such as group size, unanimity and task difficulty.
