Space Assembly Script - EYFS/KS1
An editable script for a space-themed assembly for younger pupils.
Features two songs for children to sing and 30 separate speaking parts (though these are easily combined should you have children who do not wish to speak).
The basic premise of the assembly is that two children in the class want to go on holiday to space and so listen to some facts about the eight planets to help make their decision. They don’t want to stay on planet Earth because it’s too messy!
In the end they realise that the other planets would not be great holiday destinations because they’re too hot/too cold/too rocky/too smelly! They choose to stay on planet Earth but realise that they have to help to look after it to keep it a nice place to live.
We had great success with this assembly in Reception last year - the children (and parents) loved it - and it’s easily edited to make it work for other classes.
Phonics: Set 1 Weekly Phonics Lesson Plans
A comprehensive set of weekly phonic lesson plans, covering all Set 1 sounds . Each weekly plan covers three sounds per week and the plans are fully editable.

Numicon Shape Matching Pictures
A selection of 5 images designed for actual size Numicon pieces. Children match Numicon pieces to the pictures (A4 size) or experiment further with numbers by choosing alternative combinations of filling in each picture.
An optional recording sheet is also included within the download to encourage pupils to record which shapes they used and to add them together to find the total. These are great for differentiated learning - LA pupils can focus on matching shapes while HA pupils can extend to number bonds and addition.
The students in my Reception class loved these sheets and would often choose to write down the numeral next to each shape that they used on the original picture sheet, and then count all holes to find the total, recording in whichever way they chose. There are lots of possibilities to explore and secure number sense.
Teacher Standards and Evidence Examples - Cover Sheets
A set of A4 cover sheets for the Teaching Standards. Each standard comes on its own A4 sheet with an outline of the standard, as well as examples of how to evidence each standard. Useful for PGCE or BEd students on school placements who need to provide evidence for meeting each teaching standard.

Emotions and Facial Expressions - Build a face!
A selection of photographs featuring eyes and mouths in different expressions (happy, angry, scared, sad etc.), and a full page face template for sticking them on.
We have found this really useful for teaching children about emotions and when encouraging them to speak about how they are feeling.
They can either be used independently as a cutting/sticking activity for children, or laminated and provided within continuous provision to encourage children to show you how they are feeling when they are struggling to articulate it.
EYFS All About Me - Observation Template
An A4 observation template for EYFS topics such as ‘All About Me’, ‘This is Me’ and ‘Ourselves’. Encourage children to draw a picture in each box while speaking about themselves, and write down what they say in the comments box. An example of how to complete the sheet is also included.
A back to school activity to support gathering evidence for ‘Speaking’, ‘Self-Confidence and Self-Awareness’ and ‘People and Communities’.
EYFS Next Steps document (based on Development Matters Early Learning Goals)
