About
Around 1 in 10 Australian children have asthma, a condition that impacts on families and schools across the country. With good management, kids with asthma can lead normal, active lives, including doing sports and going on camp. However, teachers need to know which students have asthma and how they manage it – outlined in the child’s personal asthma action plan. The National Asthma Council Australia has a wide range of resources to help teachers understand asthma, as well as information on how to recognise an asthma attack and what to do in response. The Council’s website - www.kidswithasthma.com.au - has clear facts and fun games for primary school kids to learn about asthma.
