Science is a very strong faculty at Radford College, with a dedicated staff who demonstrate genuine commitment to collegial practice. The faculty is well resourced, with opportunities to integrate new technologies into classroom practice.
There are 8 dedicated laboratories. In Years 11 and 12 there are currently 8 classes of Biology, 5 classes of Physics, 9 classes of Chemistry and 1 class of Geology.
The College has an outstanding academic record, as reflected in the following Year 12 UAI data, and Science results are traditionally very high.
Radford is located opposite the University of Canberra. Canberra itself is a Science centre, and within very close proximity to the College are the Australian National University, CSIRO, AGSO, and the National Science and Technology Centre. There are numerous enrichment opportunities available to students at the College and excellent professional networks for staff.
All members of staff are required to undertake a co-curricular role – activities that occur outside the classroom. There is an honorarium paid for this role. All staff must also be supportive of the Christian ethos of the College.
